Degrees and Certifications:
Hi everyone! I’m Sam Gundran. This is my first year with Burton Middle School, and I will be teaching 7th grade Language Arts and Integrated Language Arts/History. From Bullpup to Bengal to Bulldog (circa 1992-2001), Burton district has been like a home to me, and I feel ecstatic to be back with the educational community that raised me.
Like many other locals from this area, I graduated from Monache High School, and I received my Associate’s degree from Porterville College. Then, I attended Cal State Long Beach where I received my Bachelor’s degree in English Education and my teaching credential. Two years ago, I moved back to my hometown of Porterville to do what I love most: TEACH!
When I’m not teaching, I love to read, specifically YA novels because I love keeping up with what my students are reading. I also love shopping. You can always spot me around town, the mall, or the outlets just shopping around. Lastly, my family and I love to go to the beach during vacation. We’re big on fishing and we always enjoy traveling the coast to catch that big bite!
This year is going to be an amazing year! I look forward to creating awesome learning experiences with my students. Some of my fondest memories come from my time as a student at BMS, and I look forward to creating some awesome experiences for students to remember for years to come.
